      • Oakland Athletics: I have been an A's baseball fan since before they move to Oakland. My first memory of them is in the '60s, when Dagoburto "Campy" Campaneris played all 9 positions in one game. Another reason why I followed the team was this: they had the same "card design" as the Raiders, another team that I follow to this day. Since then, I have literally lived at the Oakland Coliseum. I have seen it expand, change design, and be the home to World Champions. In fact, one of my greatest moments in life was to take my father to a World Series Game, and have him for years after tell me it was his only WS game, and one of the best games he had ever gone to in his life). I guess you can tell that I am proud to be an A's fan, yes, even though they have been so bad lately. My theory is this: you don't change teams simply because you move. that is why although i live less than 2 miles from the Sacramento Kings Areana, I am a Golden State Warriors Fan - hey, I am from the SF Bay Area, what can I say? Imagine the years of heartache that I have gone through being their fan!
      • Scorekeeping: I have been keeping score at baseball games for over 45 years - actually since my first game! I am proud to say that I learned from my father, but honed the skill while playing baseball in Babe Ruth. My skills really became fine tuned when I spent an afternoon in the media box and had lunch with the "guys" as they say. One of them, took interest in this "kid" and his name was Art Spander. We sat down and watched the game, talked baseball, and I learned how to score - damn it was fun!. As someone who attends games regularly - often as many as 40 a year, I have noticed that this "art" is losing ground.  And yes, it is an art - no doubt about it. As such, when I often see a kid whose dad is trying to show them how to score, I help them, and do so by showing some inside tips! Additionally, I dedicate a part of my website to the future of the art - so with that said, here are a couple of links that will help you understand scorekeeping. finally, there are a lot of different kinds of scoresheets on the internet - i can't recommend one because the  key is to find one that fits your needs. That is why I have created my own sheet, in fact i can keep score for two teams, on one 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.
