With that thought in mind, I want you to know that The Lobbyist Education Center is sponsoring a contest dedicated to
getting your legislative thoughts, feelings and ideas enacted into law. To participate, simply
write down your ideas and submit them to me using the outline below. If your idea is selected, not only
will you receive $50 in cash, but if the bill is introduced, you will actually get to help us work on the bill as it
makes it way through the legislative process! The contest is open to anyone and is simple to enter - simply get your idea to me either

Like the legal community's I.R.A.C. writing system, Legislative Writing has a style all its own.
Simply supply me with the highlighted information and we're on our way!
PROBLEM: Define the problem in one or two sentences;
THIS PROBLEM IS FELT AS: Provide an example, so the ready clearly understands;
PROPOSED SOLUTION: Propose a solution;
POSSIBLE SUPPORT: Tell me who you expect to support this idea;
POSSIBLE OPPOSITION: Tell me whom you expect to be opposed to the idea;
ARGUMENTS IN SUPPORT: Give us the reasons why this idea should be supported;
ARGUMENTS IN OPPOSITION: Give us the reasons why this idea should be opposed;
SECTION OF LAW EFFECTED: If you know the section, tell us (if not don't worry about it):
LANGUAGE ATTACHED: If you have specific language, sent it (if not, we will get it drafted for you).
